About

Safety is Priority

Maintaining a safe school environment is a priority of the Molalla River School District. Many factors are critical to securing the safety and well-being of students during school hours and at school-sponsored activities. District staff collaborate with community partners to review and enhance district practices - and to provide training to staff and students in routine safety measures as well as emergency preparedness.

The Molalla River School District is fortunate to have established strong partnerships with local social service agencies and law enforcement officials throughout the City and County. There are many proactive programs supported by these partnerships that are designed to protect the safety of students through educating, engaging and supporting them in making positive choices in their lives.

It is up to us all - parents, students, staff members, law enforcement - and the entire community to guide our students and provide education and resources to assist families to keep our schools and community a safe and respectful environment for all. We have provided several links to Safety information and Resources in our community. We encourage you to learn more about the information and tools available so we can work together in keeping kids safe.

Tips for Parents

  • Update emergency contact information with your child's school, including phone numbers to reach you or an authorized adult in the event of an emergency.
  • Familiarize yourself with school procedures and review them periodically. Read school newsletters, information from principal, phone messages, etc. to ensure you are aware of any changes, or information that pertains to school safety.
  • Reinforce the importance of safety with your child. Discuss safety plans for your family in the event of an emergency.
  • Communication is a key factor in maintaining a safe environment. Stay informed of District procedures for communicating to families and the public in the event of an emergency and/or inclement weather.
